Putting Another Generator in the Air

No wonder I don't have time to get my own chores done!!!!

This is from August of 2006. Helping my closest neighbor (4 miles),
and best friend, set up his Air X.

He's happy with it, so I guess I am too!!!!

I must be the only "poor boy" in the whole darned county. Seems like
everybody else bought their generators!!!!!

And the finished product, helping to keep his batteries charged.

During the winter we were snowed in for 4 months. In order to get supplies,
I had to snowshoe those 4 miles and go to town with my friend. He could still
get in and out. If we had had one more heavy snow, he would have been
snowed in too.

"Poor Boy" windmills make power before the others,
and you understand them down to the last turn in the last coil.  :-)

Yes, great point[s], G;

Another important but often missed part of DIY is when push comes to shove the DIY turbine is likely to be back up and flying after damage from a catastrophe than a factory unit that has specialized components that require either a tech or the factory to install. The home builder understands that certain parts can be rebuilt in the garage with what is onhand if needed.

It is hard to duplicate the feeling you get from installing your home built turbine by installing something you simply bought.

Tom,
You and Glen are right. It does start a lot sooner than the factory
made rigs.
And getting it back in the air is just like you said. In the next couple
of Days, I'll be posting some crash pictures to prove what you're saying.
