Hot diggity!

More winning.

Yesterday I got my shop, including all the tools running on solar. I was so excited, I tried an electric heater too.  It worked great! And now, I am typing this on a solar powered computer. I particularly like running the electric heater on solar, because it will reduce both electric and gas bills simultaneously. Heh heh heh. I'm nibbling away the profits of two companies. The power company wants to triple, yes triple, the billing for electricity to finance the building of a 'clean coal' plant here. If there ever was an oxymoron it is 'clean coal'. Geez!  [More to come]

Good man!

I'm sort of on solar at the moment, from my grid-tie running my laptop and DSL modem, but it's a dull day and my claim is marginal!  B^>

I guess if clean coal can be more than a PR lie and can actually keep the CO2, mercury, sulphates and other combustion-byproduct toxins out of the environment, AND getting the coal does not involve ripping the tops off mountains and polluting the groundwater, etc, then I'm in favour.  But I'm more inclined to believe in porcine aviation and honest politicians (OK, at most one of those two).

Rgds

Damon

A Google search for "Clean Coal"
http://www.google.com/search?q=%22clean+coal%22&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozil la:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

The Wikipedia article is very interesting. It starts . . .
"Clean coal is a public relations term used to promote coal as an energy source by emphasizing methods and technologies intended to reduce its environmental impact."
