small windmill generator 6 to 20watts

its been a while since i've posted, but I'm looking for info in regard to making a small generator for my bicycle wheel windmill. One of my friends recycles computer hardrives and can supply me with magnets, but i'd really rather convert a motor(geardrive cordless drill?) or something similar for use under 100 rpm to produce a few watts. any input would be appreciated. Even a good book recommendation would be helpful.
thanks
Mike

Take a look at my experiments using dynamo hubs - up to 5 watts in good winds.
They cog badly, but generate 6 volts at only 60 rpm.

You probably won't be able to find a Sturmey Archer one if your in the states, but there are Chinese copies that are available

I'll keep my eye out for one on ebay. Thanks. Current plan is a conventional bicycle light generator. I saw one modified on your site.

I picked up a 14$ 12v 6w bicycle generator and it cogs about like expected. My bicycle wheel design would take about 1/2 ftlb. of torque to run (simple weight test to see what it would take to spin). I'm not sure how to go about calculating the diameter necessary for a low wind (2-3 m/s) windmill to drive this thing. My windmill design is sort of like a sail mill. I am assuming it would just need to be a fairly large diameter to pick up the necessary force and could be built like the cretan windmills.
