Lead calcium backup batteries?

I got a bunch of free batteries...

Long story short, I got a bunch of 6v, 4ah "lead calcium" batteries that were originally intended as a backup power source for exit signs. Can anyone tell me anything special about lead calcium batteries? Do they charge the same way as regular lead acid batteries? Are these batteries meant to be discharged very many times, or just float their entire life?

They are made to float. Sounds like a Lithonia light. They liked 4 volts for some reason. They aren't worth anything here for scrap, but the local auto parts store will take them for free to recycle once they are spent.

What do you plan to use them for?

Oops, my bad. 6v 4 amp hour. Not Lithonia. How old are they? There is usually a date stamp on them.

Actually, they are Lithonia lighting. Or at least that's what the label says, I think I can see another OEM label underneath. Really not sure what I'm going to do with 'em, but I've got 50 of them, brand new, August '09 manufacture date. Maybe I'll just end up ebaying them...

That would be 25 parallel sets of 2 in a series for 12V 100 amp hour by my math.
