help for PCS solar setup

i was unable to post a reply in the thread. hope a new post makes it in.

hi pcs,

i say this in the kindest way...it's time to press the reset button there and hit the books. that system configuration you have there is terrible, and the new proposed set up might be even worse..sorry.

consider a system configured as follows.

sounds like all evergreen modules. or are those 110's the old matrix? either way...
array #1 for the fx80
12 ec-115w as 3 strings of 4 giving us a vmp68.4 imp6.73 voc85.2 isc7.62
12 spruce 200w as 3 strings of 4 = vmp72. imp11.05 voc82 isc12
4 110w as 1 string of 4 = vmp68.8 imp6.42 voc85.2 isc7.48
2 115w and 2 110w as 1 string of 4 = vmp68.6 imp6.42 voc85.2 isc~7.62
array totals 4670 watts vmp~70 imp66.2 voc~85 isc~34.5 (corrected max voc 127vdc) thats the x 1.25 cloud effect and x 1.2 temp factor.

we run the 9 strings both the +&- to a pv combiner near the array each + thru a 15 amp overcurrent protection device then the combined output with #2awg to the fx80 with another ocpd/shutoff at the controller input. output to the battery bank with thru a continious duty ob80amp breaker with #2awg (max conductor allowed)
based on a 50 foot run. we may get lucky on occasion and peg that mx80..no worries there.

array #2 for the fx60
the 9 es-195 as 3 strings of 3 = vmp81.3 imp21.63 voc98.7 isc24.45
array totals 1755 watts vmp81.3 imp21.63 voc98.7 isc24.45 (corrected max voc 148vdc:)

we run these 3 strings to a pv combiner near the array. each string thru a 15 amp ocpd then to the mx60 with #8awg. the out to the bank thru a 60amp breaker with some of that #2awg or the 8 is ok here to.

i would run the bank on the both setting. we should see about 25kwh's a day (500ah at 48vdc)

i suspect we have some issues here with wiring methods. a note here on those tecno-wacko connectors. it's easy to get those polarities mixed up, as the cable markings swap when we plug in cable extensions. double check everything. best of luck.

kind regards, dave
