load or no load?

my turbine puts out anywhere from 24 to 100 volts dc with no load. If im putting out more then 24 volts with no load is that enough to charge my 24v battery bank or does it have to be 24v with a load.
thanks

Simple answer yes.

Once your turbine reaches battery volts plus blocking diode volt drop charging will commence and from then turbine terminal volts will be battery volts, basically.

Hi

Running a wind turbine without a load can be the least sensible option. It can run away and very quickly causing damage or pain.  Even with a load on I was surprised how quickly the amp meter climbs in a brisk wind.
