Due to some mistakes from the supplier I find myself in possession of a 48V 30Ah LiFePO4 battery pack (16 cells) including BMS and charger.  The BMS is current limited to 45A peak current which means it's no use to me since I need 100A, 6AWG wiring, and to make things worse it doesn't even fit in my EVT scooter so I can't use it even if I wanted to!

I'm finding it a PITA to return it to them to China for a refund since according to the courier companies lithium batteries are considered dangerous good for air freight, so I thought I'd see if anyone in Australia was interested.  Would make a crazy awesome ebike pack among other things.

It's brand new, never used since I couldn't even get the packs into my scooter to discharge them!  It owes me $2000AU.  Obviously I'm looking to get as much of that as possible back and get some fresh lead for the scooter.  Make me an offer if you're interested.

48V 30Ah LiFePO4 + BMS + charger.  Wiring: 10AWG with Anderson connectors.  Total weight: 23.4kg

I'd post this at www.visforvoltage.org, they have a large electric scooter following. I'm certain a few members are from Australia. I was abouit to also suggest Endless-Sphere, but i saw you were already there. Best of luck, mate!

Out of interest... If it's dangerous to ship by air, how did you get them in the first place?  By sea?  Are they basically the same as the Valence U-Charge ones?  In which case they should be air safe as they can't burst into flames like normal lithium cells.

Who did you buy them from?  Valence wouldn't sell me any U-Charge packs as they only sell to commercial users (vehicle manufacturers).  They wouldn't even quote me a price.

Hi, the batteries came from Yesa Battery in Shenzen China on UPS Express Saver (air!)  I have tried and tried and tried all the courier companies (including UPS) to no avail.  Was told by DHL that there are different laws WRT what can be sent from different countries.  Actually lithium batteries may be sent by air (since that's how they got here) but from Australia they must be sent by a dangerous goods carrier.  So far I've not been able to find one, as soon as they hear "lithium" or "batteries" they dump me.

Put them down as UPS power packs, wrap them in loads of aluminium foil no one will know!

I feel compelled to warn you that it would be "wrong" to re-label them as 48V NiCD packs...(wink)

Ha ha, yes indeed.  Actually I think they are on the prohibited items list too.  Needless to say there are some pretty significant penalties for trying to fudge the shipment ($$$ and gaol time).

Must be one helluva scooter to need 100A @48v! that's 4800 watts! Is the thing even legal in Australia?

Google EVT scooter.  Lemmiwinks has the 168 model. Mine is the 4000.

Registered and insured as a proper motor vehicle. Need a motorcycle license to ride it.

Top speed not quite 60 Km/Hr.  Range varies on batteries, terrain, traffic lights, etc. Based on consumption reported by my Doc Wattson on my regular 5 K each way commute through traffic and some small hills, my 40 AHr LiFePO4 pack should manage about 50 Km.

Needless to say, I absolutely love mine.
