Kurt:
my appologies for coming off like i am poaching members from this forum...
nothing could be further from the truth, as you probably know i have been a member
here for many years, sometimes much more involved than others, but nonetheless i have contributed my share in my opinion.
as for the tenor of my post, it is more to do with frustration for not being able to get the darn thing posted,, and not sure if it reality it was my fault for not doing something right... so i will take that one on the nose.
as for forum to forum etiquette
if i were to come here advertizing for a windpower forum then yes i would expect you to get pissed off,, thats fair.
however our forum is not a windpower forum, but rather predominantly an engine driven factor built generator forum.
my thinking was in all honesty this forum likely would pickup more folks coming over here to take a look, learn and perhaps join up,, and buy wire/magnets and other stuff offered here as well, that would be likely from this forum going over to ours.
lets face it, this is the #1 forum of its type on the planet, barr none!
when i mentioned this being an effort to swap some information i meant it in a straight up manner,
if one is going to go offgrid, lets also face the facts that it is hard to do with just windpower, or just engine driven genset,, not impossible,, but quite hard unless you are willing to make drastic lifestyle changes. i know we have better gensets over there than is typical of windpower owners,, and i know you guys are lighyears ahead of us in windpower.
just thought it would be a classic chocolate and peanut butter sort of thing :)
if this is an unfair or unwelcome posting on this forum, just tell me so and delete it,, no hard feelings from me ok, i will continue to be a part of this forum as long as you will have me..
one final note, the other forum in question was formed to publish some leading edge
research and development results that in my belief are of interest here, such as
reaching and exceeding 80% efficiency with a lundell clawpole alternator (automotive), of course this is of no practical use for windpower as we all know, but there are many who build small gas engine driven alternators to charge their batteries when the wind is not blowing,, there are those that did not want to publish those works here for fear that the information did not fit with windpower.
anyway, i thank you for your reasoned response, and applaud your work on this forum.
(as well as everyone else that works to make this forum possible)
sincerely
