Aerial Bunched cable is mains distribution cable suspended between poles . It is less dangerous to people in so far as it's insulated and therefore can be strung where yachties raise masts , hang gliders land and also it's lee obstrusive compared with "open-wire" It still has the three phases and neutral in the "bunch' and is self supporting . In Australia ,after the bush fires burnt down many open-wire poles , they quickly restored service by rolling out bunched cable -quick to erect and tap into--it can be tapped into mid-span.
