At about 3 this morning I woke up to the sound of a single very small lamb bleating (I've let my neighbour put his sheep in my paddock for a couple of weeks, since his land is totally barren due to the drought).  I ignored it for a while, then thought "Hang on, if he's on his own a fox might get him".

So I shrugged on a jacket and boots, then went for a look.

About half of the sheep had come back up the hill to my caravan (I shooed them away when I got home last night), and there was a brand new sheep complaining bitterly about the sudden 40 degree temperature drop he'd had the indignity of suffering.

I did what I would do if any newborn was complaining in the night, and let his mum handle it. ;-)
