Rain!
« on: August 30, 2004, 04:44:16 PM »
8mm (about 1/3 of an inch for you metrically-challenged types) of rain fell on my place yesterday.  That takes this year's rainfall to about 180mm, where by this time of year it shoul be nearer to 400mm.

It's not much, but I'll take it.

I was in Mildura (Victoria, Australia) late last week. The taxi driver told me they'd had 30mm for the whole year so far.

It's bad all right.  Pretty much everywhere is in drought except south-east Victoria (and they've had above-average winter rains!)

I got another 5mm last night, so I might have a slight tinge of green this spring.  Sort of a "painted-on grass" effect.

Hi BT.  We got a nice drizzle yesterday and last night -around 10mm also . We are bloody well parched here , with the leaves falling  and the grass ready to explode. Locals reckon it's the worst they have experienced.

Spring starts today , hope "huey" gets the mail
