flat laminates vs dual rotor
« on: September 19, 2004, 07:46:38 PM »
thought i might try just using one rotor and some steel strapping tape for

laminate's-- made up from scrap pieces 4-8ft long .with one side tapped..

well it worked --but had no where near the power output as the dual rotor setup !!

plus it really had a bad vibration to it--most likly due to the way it was mounted on stator[just two screws to hold it on]..

it may have worked better if i used diffrent materail ??

moving on..............................

How is the flux saturation in those saw blades?  I've been thinking about those since you posted the idea (Ithink it was you) and it sure would be cheaper and easier but would you need to stack them to capture flux?

there is some loss on the backside of blades--i have a bunch of metal squares to take

care of that--just glue them to the backside of blades--it puts out some good power--

should top out at 45-55 amps? --with stator split in half and both sides rectified- then hooked in parelle--right now my drill can't handle the power--lights up a 12v

tail light with a light spin by hand-with all coils in sireies--with my drill it

lights up a couple of headlights at a slow  speed--dont want to rev it up to much mags are just glued on for now--im just having a blast tryin to get the most out of ceramics mags--next will be some kind of windmill setup..

no hurry here............yes if you stacked the blades it would help out greatly-

but it would not help my pocket book --found those two blades at a thrift shop -3 bucks..new blades cost to much !!    later......................
