If I ever figure out what's in the box then maybe I can think outside of it.

hey JERRY.

is their a furling system on those gen's or do you build them for all out ..

been tryin to think of some kind of simple furl for my all wood gen..

the rotors are kind of heavy with all those mags-and it cuts in at a fairly slow speed

so i don't need a lot of speed.its just a test set up for now , until i think

of a furl system--guess im rambling on--boy u should have a whole lot of amps with all those gens hooked togeather!!! go out and buy a electric car--use your gen's to

charge it overnight..........................

hiker;

I run some Jerry blades on TDM mills very similar to what Jerry does. I use no furling and I think Jerry flies them head on with no furling, too. His blades tend to self feather due to their construction. I can't speak for Jerry but in over a year of flying with no furling I have had no troubles.  They get very whooshy in higher winds when they stall but don't seem to overspeed at all. Just my real world experience.

Yes that mill is under that tree but it has seen some pretty high winds and has survived for a long time with no furling and it has weathered 50 mph straight line winds on a couple occasions.

Cheers.

Hi Hiker

No furling system. I've wind tested these blades under load at 68 mph in my S-10 wind test truck. No problems. I would have gone faster but old tiered truck, curvy country road and such.

Its rare here to see winds above 50 mph. So no furling here. This also keeps the gennys lite and simple.

Have seen 80 amps top end from the 49" blades at 45 mph. This is why I've seen the amp meters peged at my store several times.

Charging the E-car has crossed my mind more than once.

Hi DanB

Thanks I feel ahnord hearing that from you. The old pine tree reminds me of your first tree tower. The diferance is mine dosen't tilt up. Its just a tree with all its limes cut off. I don't expect this one to stand very many years. I didn't dibark it soon enough and some surface decay has started. I figure it will stand till it comes down?

There is a small 48" 3 blade up there. The alt is a GE ECM motor. Its 3 phase and the bridge doides are in the metal box next to the 40 ft crankup tower.

The pole next to the metal crankup tower has a 1hp Garbogen conversion set for 24 volts. It has a 49" 3 blade. Its doides are also in the metal box. This pole it 35ft with 5ft of mast on top.

As per normal. Put towers up and no wind. I know thats the rools?
