For Nothing to Lose
« on: October 03, 2004, 05:23:26 PM »
 Sir

When I was young[I'm 71] we had a deep well hand pump that was sealed at the top where the shaft came up and would pump up[via pipe conections] to an overhead tank for gravity feed. My father said it was desconnected because of problems so I never saw it in operation We also got electrecity at about that time and had a pump jack installed. However if you go to Lehmans.com they serve the Amish in that area[Ohio] and have a lot of off grid stuff. VERY expensive but you can get a lot of ideas or go to dogpile.com and ask for water pumps.

I hope this is of some help

          Good luck  R. Love

Thanks, checking out the links now.

Amish, there all over Ohio (and other places), I used to go to a Amish flea market in Hartville Ohio when I lived up that way.

If you can find it at Lehmans, you can find it somewhere else. Usually.

I know some people use it like a referance book.

A few years ago there prices on some things were double the going rate.

Taking their side for a minute, they do have some higher than average quality stuff and no body can beat their selection and service.

Anyone getting near the store should stop. It's quite impressive.
