Mini 100 Watt Inverter
« on: December 19, 2004, 04:16:57 PM »
After seeing the post regarding the 'Powerjack 2000 Inverter' i thought that i would writ a diary on my new 100watt inverter.  I saw this on ebay

my first reason for bying this small inverter is to run my fish air pumps during power cuts but also for converting power from my school prodject (if i finish it:

see for more info.  As you can see the total price came to £9.49, not a lot or a little usefull inverter. any way there are three pics below and an explanation below each of them.

This is a pic of the inverter powering and 8watt compact florecent light, as it turns out the inverter has now problems with small florecent up to 10 watts.

The pic above shows two multi meters on the left is the voltage (coming from a 7ah gel batterie) and on right is  the dc current that the inverter is consuming.

And this is a pic of the 7ah baterrie.

As i have only had this inverter fo 5 days i can only say that: if the inverter is leaft on with no load it draws 0.17/0.18amps and getts very war (there is no fan in this inverter due to its size).  With any load on it the inverter only getts slightly warm, so little its hard to tell at times.  It does not hum at all even with a fall load.

If you are now thinking of bying one of these be warned they take 1-2 weeks to arive.

Does it still work?

It looks like a 2 year old Vector. The new ones have a piviot near the middle.

Had one on a cordless phone / answering machine (about 8 to 12w). Did not get hot. Lasted about 3 days.
