Solar panel.
« on: January 17, 2005, 08:09:16 AM »
Ok, the start of my panels.

Started with a piece of ply wood. Cut to size, add some side walls, and resin coat for protection.

While drying, solder cells to the wooden inserts I've made that hold the cells and slide into each section. I did this to help maintenance. Also, for the same reason, I soldered the cells from the back, so I could also unsolder from the back if one breaks.

I got 1/3 of the panel done before I ran out of ribbon to connect the cells. I would like to continue the "easy maintenance" plane incase a redneck shoots my panel or something, so as soon as cusdn puts up some more ribbon, I will have 1000' more(never use that much).

I'll post again when I finish the cells, and get the glass on.
