So, having got the blades on the hub (did the sharp eyed among you spot the slotted holes to enable blade angle to be varied to influence the stalling wind speed?) the next thing was to get it up! So; what we needed was a tower to hang it on.

It was interesting to note that the guys put in the control panel first to save struggling through the door with it, then just lowered the 18t lower section over it!
Once bolted down with 80! 180x30mm bolts the lighter second section (15t)is stuck on top;


Half a day gone now so we need to crack on; next bit is the 26t nacelle which holds the gearbox and 500kW genny

Trouble is at this point we realise crane sent not as big as the one requested, though it seemed pretty damn big to me - in fact i think if they had sent the next size up we mightn't have got it down the lane! Anyway at full stretch we just manage it but guys having serious doubts about blade lift.
