1916 motor alt....

made a quike mount for the alt --just to see if it would work..

used a old bike tire for the belt--just cut off the sidewalls..

cranks right up--i think its only good for about 100watts ..

puts a load on the little engine--the main purpose was to get rid of the battery..

did that --  and a little more--small light plant--u think... ;}

guess i"le have to make some fancy mount for it now ...

any way it was fun to mess with..........................im outta here..

its a blast--no dou"t..

next one will be a brake drum alt--don"t have to worry about the mags flying off..

it will be powered by the big block ceramics from my old 12" dual rotor mill..

might try for some high volts ..maybe use # 14 wire 100 winds per coil.

10 coils..this will be powered by my little 2hp briggs and stratt. engine..

should see some good power from it--coils will be layed over the top of some steel lams.--mags will be on the inner rim of brake drum...

wounder what it would take to power a 220v clothes dryer--hmmm.

the belt will go around the brake drum--then to the smaller pully on the engine..

should be a good gear ratio for the alt-and engine..same set up as the celing fan alt.
