I thought folks might find the optimized dual blade vawt graphic interesting.

This is from the May 2005 CEC study. The claim is about 27% improvement over conventional designs. The slots are a bit hard to see. I wonder what a three blade configuration would look like?

   Bruce,

Got the motor yesterday afternoon, from

what I can figure I should be able to remove that

gear that is on the shaft, as soon as I can find

my allen wrenches, and put a little hand crank in

its place...hook one of my little SLA 6volt batteries

(plug n'play) to the red and black wire

and watch how fast the crank spins...now if I

turn the crank faster than the battery is motoring it,

 it will charge the battery.

Taking the end cap off, where the wires are

I'll put a marker on that toothed wheel and

count the revolutions to get the exact ratio.

I believe it to be basically a real nice

little brush type PM motor...a real + !

The gear box and the electronic cap and

toothed stepper or whatever it's called are

in themselves real treasures.

Should be able to get everything set up

and get some real data by this afternoon.

Catch 'ya later....this is what I call

  havin fun!

           Thanks a lot Bruce!

                   ( :>) Norm.
