This little cart was primarily put together to cary my hiking and camping gear, allowing me to bring some extra comforts along over rough terrain. The cart carries all of my standard hiking gear ( and half my girlfriends stuff) plus an ice chest for cold food=BEER, chairs, more comfortable bedding, and a 12v 9ah battery for led lighting  mp3/external speakers, cell phone digital camera charging, GPS, TV for weather and entertainment Ect.. Not that i have or would carry all of that all the time.

I am interested in installing an electric hub motor like this ( MODEL 4013 )

And possibly a battery like these

Though im not sure of the most economical motor and voltage for this application. I would like the system to be able to carry around 100lbs on a fairly steep incline at speeds between 0-6mph for distances around 5-10 miles preferably. I am also interested in regenerative breaking for those long decents and a small lightweight pv panel to supliment the batteries.

You know what they say about Lithium Ions:

Energy density of a hand grenade.

Use care.

Expesive as a mother too. Lithium would be nice but I'll stick to lead acid until prices come down.

I'm looking for a good bicycle motor as well, but those types are always not worth paying for. I guess I'll just connect one to the chain, though I dont know how I could pedal as well.
