Way-hey up she rises

   Just barely made it before sundown.Got my new alt flying.It is supposed to be real windy here tomorrow 20-30 with 40mph gusts.Hope I didnt forget anything.You know you like the hobby when put one up on NewYears Eve.

the flying zebra--what kind of blades --pvc-wood. ?

im about ready to toss mine on the back of my motorhome -should be good for 2 to 3 hundred watts.............happy new year..

  Hey Hiker..   The blades are some of the plastic 30 gal cola barrels..Took two pieces of flat iron made an x and bolted the slats to that.The barrel has a natural curve to it, kinda cuped..I cant even feel the wind and they start to turn...But they cant match the wood carved blades for speed..Ive been painting my machines black and white lately.....Happy newYear to you..   MelTx

  Hey Waterfront..  I had 90" dia 4 blade on and it was twisting out of the wind.To lazy to adjust the tail weight so.I changed to another prop I had laying around.Its a 6 blade 60" dia, made from the plastic barrels.It does much better.

    The multi 4 or six or eight blades are ok if you use a step-up chain drive about four or five to one. But to get the speed you need on the 2 rotor alts I think you almost have to use a carved wood blade with 3 blades.
