Hello there dear fieldlines friends !
Happy new year to you and yours, may the force be with you
Slowly things are coming together, moving always takes more time and hassle than you think it does, especially when it's internationally.
I've settled in the North-Eastern part of the Netherlands, about 50 kilometers away from a place called Groningen. Since a few days I have my internet connection up, even though it is still slower than it should be, but it's lots faster than the modem link I used to have on the island. At least I'm no longer living out of a suitcase.
My computer died in transit, I managed to salvage all the data (I had the foresight
to send a backup with a different aircraft), the super fragile LCD screen made it through in one piece though, go figure !
Renewable energy wise the only thing I've done is move the blue machine to Europe, but it looks like it won't be spinning any time soon, the amount of hassle that you have to go through here to get a permit is just amazing.
Since the network connection is up I've been working on a little ditty called files.ww.com, it allows you to upload large files for distribution, feel free to test it. You can upload up to 10 MB files, and have them downloaded as often as you want, no restrictions.
The house is really small, at least compared to the Canadian one, for dutch standards it has a large garden though (about 15000 sq. ft) so at least the dogs
have some room. The area is quite rural, only one side has another house close to it, the rest if totally open space. About as Canadian as you can get in the Netherlands I guess
