Motor Conversion3
« on: March 11, 2006, 08:44:12 PM »
Okay, I found the 3 leads tied together,separated them,traced and added wire and labeled.So far so good.

Even figured out how to tuck everything back together. Mechanics at hanger (work)found some nice waxed lacing.

Wires fed through nicely.

Found a rectifier from old auto alt.Don't know yet if it's good to use.

Hey TomW, found a six pack and someone with a lathe for the rotor hehehe.

Dan;

Funny how far a few beers can go towards getting stuff done. Here it usually starts at a 12 pack.

Cheers.

The trouble is if you start with a 12 pack,  it takes longer to get underway, and the tolerances can become a bit wayward....may be better to start with a six pack.....and  then end with another...

hi Dan NS CAN!

you did a super looking job of adding the extra leads!

once you have the rotor complete and installed, a few lathe spins checking the voltage at various rpm's will tell you what the best connection will be for your batt bank voltage and what type of prop to construct.

just want to suggest that you buy a spray can of clear spray paint and give the end you re-connected a good coat. it will help to insure that the tie cord does not unravel and will stop any vibration of the wire connections. even a coating of wood varnish would be fine for the job.

you are doin just great!
