I may be jumping the gun here, but . . . . .
I just cast my stator today, and I'm a bit concerned about the resin not curing. I took a whole gallon of resin (wasn't sure how much was going to be needed, and I didn't want to come up short) and added aluminum trihydrate to it. I was attempting to thicken it up a bit, but after adding nearly 3 quarts (by volume) it still was practibly runny as without. So I stopped there and added the called for 1 ounce of MEKP to the mix, and mixed it up real good. I did all my glassing and stuff, and sealed it up. After 45 minutes, it still wasn't setting up, so I moved it on top of an industrial air conditioning unit that vents off a pretty warm blast of air hoping to coax it to set up. I stuck around for another 15 minutes before heading home, and the overspill still wasn't really setting.
So what if I come back in the morning and it still hasn't set up? Can a larger amount of heat save the day? Hopefully, I'm just a little punchy, and all will be fine. The epoxy for the rotors acted the same way, but was just fine the next morning.
Fingers and toes crossed.
