Quazies Conversion Part 2

Heres the completed ceiling fan windmill.

How do you like the nose cone?

Slip-rings, blades, tail and discarded movie stars were added to the converted fan motor.

I used one phase to tell me it working. Here it is pictured in action. Bill

That is fantastic!  I needed a laugh this morning.  Did you have to add an LED to his nose?  Nice work!

Brian, had to add a nose cone and this one was a toy with attitude. The circuit in the nose is a step down converter that runs on one of the phases. There are three white leds in the nose. This was done because I wanted to run AC through the slip-rings. There are only one set of slip-rings and I would have to add an additional ring. Bill

Hannu, some specs.

12 ceramic magnets .875 x .875 x .4"
Air gap .057"
Two phase 90 degrees out.
One phase 60 volts AC .3 amps at 320 rpm
Other phase 50 volts AC at .27 amps at 320 rpm.
One old ceiling fan, toys, glue, paint, yaw bearing, tail and other stuff.
Total cost about 15 dollars. Bill

Looks brilliant! Nice to see the finished thing. I'm finishing off one like yours with HD mags and original 4 blades.

cool---might want to raise it up a few feet --wounldnt want to chop off any pinkies..

slip rings must be for the wires going down the pole...
