Here is my first effort, which worked very well up until one of the magnets worked it's way outward a bit and started rubbing on one of the stator bolts.

It was a good machine, the most I saw it put out was about 75 amps. After the next one is finished I'm going to re-work the original and put it back in service, after all,two is better than one if you can get away with it!The second version is still based on a Volvo strut as I bought a pair and wasn't going to waste a good hunk of pipe and spindle. For this one I added lots of gussets and much thicker stator mounts,as well as a huge 1" tail pivot made of something resembling titanium.I will also be using all stainless hardware this time, something I thought about the first time but didn't do due to cost.

And finally, just in case the wind don't blow and the sun don't shine,I got one of these which I'm hoping to mate to a 1.6 VW diesel running at least part of the time on home brewed biodiesel.Magnet rotors are next. Now if I could only find some extra time............
