state of the shaft after towercrash

redressed shaft,bearings and bearinghousing

The normal and thrustbearing(need a spacer between),upper side of the shaft

The plumbingpart that was the nearly exact fit for the bearings

connection between shaft and threaded rod of the rotor

8kg weight on each foot

flying!

Pitchoune asks herself what for the hell she has to lay down in this place

it looks good stonebrain.

it looks as though it was just in a light breese.

i'm shure you realise that this shape could be made very large.

is would be simple if you expand it at a constant rate , as in the the nature of what is known in geometry as the "golden section" (like a sea shell).

i just want to make one suggestion. paint the insides of the vanes a different color than the outsides . that will really show it off.

Wind was a bit above 10km/h

Ihave another avi with nearly no wind,turning very slow,

Basicly it is to a savonius wat a H-rotor is to a darius:

a savonius without top-bearing.

Hope it will perform like a savonius.

What's happening in the innerpart is just guessing.

My idea is to keepit open to have a "crossflow" effect.

Just like any savonius.

my rule is to interfere with airflow only when you can

expect positive drag or lift.

What I should do is to build some rotors based

on the same principle but with some parameters of the

geometry varying and mesure performance.A hugh program.

I'm on my way for the dynamometer that goes with my

setup.I have some ideas about it and I'm sure

it will be loads of fun.

A shame I'm so slow.

Stonebrain i didnt mean that you were on a slow pace.It was more directed at the dogs confidence in your abilities, not afraid of things going airborn like my mut.

I'm looking forward to it

Note that it has very low rpm.

Free wheeling i noticed tsr of about 0.6.

Most people on this board consider this as bad for

producing electricity.

They will say a low rpm,low power alternator has to be relative

expensive in magnets and copper,but I'm not 100% convinced.

I hope to have data on tork and tsr under different

loads soon.
