It's been a nice day here. Lots of goodies brought home.
A trip to HF netted a shiny new solar panel or 3...they work ok!
Box was kind of crunched and bent here and there, was worrying about the panels until I got home, and found nothing bent or bruised.
All was well

Also brought this home from a trip today to my brother's rental storage where we parked his stuff after he died a couple of years ago..

It weighs about 100 pounds--looks amazingly like a power head for 120/240 vac.
Has 4 slip rings--one bridge rectifier for the feilds--2 pole.
No name plate or info.
Has about #6 wire running into it--2 black--one white color..
Wound a flat strap/web around the 1" shaft about 10 turns and pulled it sharply--got 5 or 6 volts AC..hard to turn, well, not that hard--just that the dang thing is so big!
And I ain't getting younger much either.
Anyone have any ideas of what or who made it?
And no--the windings are good--bad pictures of the rotor, makes them look dark or black. It's 10:42 pm CST and kinda dark outside to be taking pictures. But what the hey.
And Harbor Freight had the 1200/3200 watt inverters on sale (coupon in email) for $79 and I snagged one of those too..
It's been a good day--yard sales all over, so me and momma left the kid at home (16 year old boy) and went out for the day--had a nice dinner while we were out too.
