Help?
« Reply #1 on: January 24, 2007, 08:41:22 PM »
I just signed up here and thought I should have a little intro in case people want to know more.

Is there a way to edit or delete diary entries? What about postings in the forum?

Also, do people have to go to a person's diary to read them, or do the entries show up publicly with the other postings?

Thanks, and I hope to catch on to the format here quickly!

Miz,

Welcome aboard!

No you can't edit or delete any postings.  In any of the "section" windows (Front Page, Everything, Newbies, Hydro, etc) you'll see the newest four diary entries on the right hand side of the page about half way down.

Now that you've signed up you'll see a box titled "Menu" on the upper right side of the page.  Many of us use the "Recent Activity" link to see everything that was posted anywhere including diaries since the last time we were here.

The "Everything" link at the top of the page shows all postings except for Newbies and the diaries.

Actually, to see everything posted you have not read , use the "recent Activity" link:

http://www.fieldlines.com/recent

Or 2nd line down in "menu"

Also if using that click the second [Re:......]link on the lines to see whole thread rather than just the comment that is new.

Cheers.

Thanks Tom.  I couldn't have said it better unless I'd said:

"Many of us use the "Recent Activity" link to see everything that was posted anywhere including diaries since the last time we were here."

Tweaking you!  :-)

[insert sound of cymbals being struck]

You know, I used to remember things I read 30 seconds ago I think?

I can't remember for sure.

All in fun.

Cheers.

Thank you for the warm welcome, and the tips for navigating this site. It's a bit different from what I'm used to and will take a bit of time to get the hang of.

I got my intro typed up and will probably ask my first question tomorrow or so. It's quite late for that now.

Thanks again!
