Magnets and House Plants
« on: February 06, 2007, 10:55:11 AM »
Recently I had noticed my house plants doing much better than they have ever done before, I have a tendency to kill house plants or they just don't do well with me until recently.

My plants have always been in the same place for over two years in a sunny southern exposure room with lots of light. and usually they are near death. But recently they just started to grow like crazy and even look healthy.

Now i was wondering what is it i was doing different....hmmmm.... I still water them a little every two days same as always. after i would water them i would refill the water jug and set it on the floor as i had always done.( I hear the chlorine is bad for the plants and if i let it set out for 24 hrs it would eliminate the chlorine in the water.)

the only different thing i had been doing was i started to place the water jug on top of the magnet just to get it out of the way when i was sweeping the floor. I continued to do this probably because i am too lazy to pick up the magnet and put it away.

this magnet is large and has a very large magnet field.

Now what i am wondering if it is the magnet responsible for energizing the water and causing the plants to grow better.

Is this crazy to think this could be the reason.

If anyone has a large magnet try this and please let me know if your plants do any better.

Here are some photos of the magnet, water jug, and plants.

you can see a lot of dead in the plants and all the new growth is in the last 3 to 4 weeks.

Is there any sediment at the bottom of the water jug?  Not sure about energizing the water, but maybe it's 'filtering' out iron or something.  Well water?

Turn the magnet over and see if they start dying. :)  Iron usually helps plants, unless of course the were getting way too much iron? Hmmmm. Bparks may be onto something...well water or city water?

PS. Where'd you get that big magnet from?

The water has little to no Iron in it.

the city water here is pretty good as far as city water goes.

I don't have any kind of sediment or calcium build up of any kind or rust stains on my plumbing so my guess would be that the water has been striped of most all minerals. then they add chlorine and fluoride to the water. tell you the truth i wish they did not add fluoride. but i don't seem to have a say on that.

i agree lucky ,

i'm on city water also.

chlorine , flouride, and whatever else is in there can not be good for you.

so i was thinking of distilling the water

a small heat distiller , either by sunlight or by using the pilot light in the stove should provide the needed heat.

the pilot light keeps the stove at about 100F degrees , i allready use it to make rasins, from grapes ,mmmm tasty !!

takes about two weeks to dry out a bowl half filled with grapes.

i've removed the cover between the broiler and the stove and exposed the pilot light to the stove area. for now i just preheat water for coffee in there .

overnight it prerheats a whole pot of water which i filter before i put it in the pot.

but i've been thinking of using that heat to distill some drinking water?

Here is a page on the WonderMagnet.com site that talks about Magnetic water treatment

http://www.wondermagnet.com/magwatertreat.html

Check out the many links at the bottom of the page

I have put magnets on each side of the pipe that goes to my showerhead.

After shampooing with this treated water

my hair is much softer . . .

ps i use the word stove , when i should have used oven.

the stove is on top ?

i call the whole unit a stove.

anyway the pilot inside the oven is what i use to preheat water for coffee ,and make rasins .

This link isn't exactially about magnets, but it does talk about how water is affected by our energy.  Not sure how much I belive this, but some interesting pictures none the less.

wow that is an interesting website. I wonder how well the conditions were controlled when they performed the experiments.

It makes you wonder if there is truth to it how the world could be affected by it.

I've read a little about how magnets promote vegetative growth so you're not crazy thinking your plants are doing better. I've also read that the Chinese utilize magnets in some form in their crop fields. It would make a neat little experiment. A google search with the words "plants" and "magnets" will give you a good start if you want to learn more.

It's better to water most plants deeply about once a week than to water them just a bit every couple/few days though. Doing that would certainly help your plants quite a bit.

That is a good use of "waste" heat.

My stove uses 5 gallon's of propane a month

just for pilot lights.TO MUCH

Luckeydog, you have stumbled into a very interesting field of study, yes the magnets are "energising" the water.

There "earth lines" that can be detected, that will affect all things, plants and animals, they can be and diverted.  One should never sleep over  such a line, or indeed spend much time there.

OK way off topic.
