My Solar Panel
« on: February 14, 2007, 05:55:25 PM »
Here is my panel and don't know the output yet as no sun, just snow right now. I didn't really want to seal the top with glue, just silicon in case a cell opens up. I had some bonding or solder problems of having waxed cells. We see how long it last. Worried about summer heat might melt plex. It on 2 by 4 flat frame so it can move, cheap and ugly.

Wayne;

Ha, ugly is in the eye of the beholder. As long as it works who cares how it looks?

My wife, of course. If it is visible from the driveway it has to be "pretty". Why my stuff is out on "the farm".

Cheers.

I hope 75 watts but should have 20 volts open and maybe 2.75 amps. Looks like a saturday test we get away from winter. Last night was -30c poor solar panels. Tom, funny you say this few years ago I dragged this 40 foot tower, 3 legged on trailer, looked like metal junk, wife just freaked, now its standing by house and think she likes it. Hope to have my 2nd solar panel one up this weekend. One thing these are heavy and no wind is going to blow them away.
