AC servo motors
« on: March 07, 2007, 02:04:48 PM »
I have a couple 10 hp 3-phase AC servo motors.  They came off an old CNC. The max feedrate of that old machine was about 300 IPM so these motors are low RPM, high torque.

They have what looks like an armature/winding inside a round magnet.  It uses brushes on one end of the armature.

I was just wondering if you could make a windmill out of them?
