Jerry Rigged Ins and Outs

When I click on the just posted link above, it takes me to the beginning of this 12 year old thread.
Maybe there is a purpose for this but I fail to see it. Or maybe I just entered “The Twilight Zone†:-\

Hi MJ
Yes you have entered the twilight zone :)
Some of us have been around that long
There are tons of posts/topics that we have archived so the relevant data can aid the newer posting. It's worth it if even someone comes away with just some info... This was meant for this post to be augmented

Hi, I'm new to this forum. Does anyone have a diagram of how to wire 3 phase axial flux generators in series?

electrondady1:
if i recall, the point of rectifying each phase individually is to reduce resistance.
in three phase you get the output of the phase plus 1/2 voltage from the adjoining phase but at twice the resistance.
rectifying individually you get the voltage from each phase separately put at 1/2 the resistance.
the vertical mills i build operate at reduced rpm compared to horizontals so i build alternators with two single phases individually rectified.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread, JW.
My turbine is currently connected with a switch that allows exactly this kind of switching from Star to Jerry connection.
Basically, the star point of the generator is at the base of the tower, and when the switch is closed, the machine runs in Star.
But if the connection is opened, it also connects the 3 phases to an additional set of rectifiers, so the phases are separately rectified, per the Jerry plan.
It's a great way to boost the power REALLY high when I am both using power and the wind is strong at the same time. When the wind is light, it's a fun way to make the blades go really fast and noisy for no particular reason.
