Commercial Helical Vawt
« on: August 15, 2007, 04:40:02 AM »
2 Years ago I was playing around with a helical Savonius design and was at the point of adding flow augmentation "Tubercles" in this case but I began school and have been sidetracked ever since. Below is the last post before I became too busy to play anymore.

This is the post that describes the flow augmentation and trailing edge design.

Today on youtube I found this.

That's pretty much exactly what I was headed for but I had a solid center and end caps in my design.

Very interesting.

Anyway back to work!!!

Thanks for the heads up, it's a very nice looking VAWT.  Hopefully they will get a little more info up on their website soon.

Thanks for that rotornuts,

I've seen smaller ones before, but that one looks bigger. I wonder if it is close to 3' diameter. Gives me an idea with sheet metal or aluminum. Bend some flat pieces of steel in half circles and rivet the SM to it.
