Should make lots of eddy current loss as heat in the solid poles. probably get a bit of ac as a by product in the coil.

Will also heat the shaft.  Probably not enough to weaken it - but the bearing seals and lube won't like it.

maybe I'm blind, but I don;t see any coil?

i see a shaft with a funky finger thingy, and then the casing with all kinds of mags on it.

I'm new to this..please tell me more about it?

Just a swaseg--but

Output = disappointment....aka low/dismal/weak

But if used on a ped-gen---it will make a fair braking/slowdown system.

Or a fair heater if pedaled long enough.

Changing magnetic orientation (as seen by the coil)  in that configuration is gonna be problematic.
