Air Element
« on: November 26, 2007, 02:26:12 AM »
New toy

"HEATING ELEMENT,ELECTRICAL,NONIMMERSION"

What I've found on line so far. Above. (searching with the "T" number)

Info on the mounting base-

"TAVDH061" on edge of one side.

"440V 1 KW 3-51-2-1 G85 WATLOW" on the other edge.

Base in 4.5" X 2.5", mount holes 3.75" X 1.75" or close.

The 2.5" wide U shaped element goes out about 10" and has an 1.25" spiral coiled fin starting about an inch from the base and ending about an inch from it.

The element and base are non-magnetic, maybe stainless.

Ohms are 184.1, tested on two different meters.

This probably came from the Army surplus store, I got from my girlfriends brothers widow, I had seen it before and knew he had it and wanted it for its heat element not what he had planned for it.

It has a marker price of $6.99 USD written on the outside of the mount base.

Welcome any info or thoughts on it.

Thanks

:)

It looks like the ohms are very high. what voltage are you using ? I have had good luck using elements out of electric dryers.by clipping the coils and paralling about 4 coils together.i have one that draws 60 amps at 50 volts.

Darren-

"the manufacturers site"

Thats were I got this little bit of info

"HEATING ELEMENT,ELECTRICAL,NONIMMERSION"

But, they didn't show anything about this part number.

I know this will be of little use in my R.E. future but was just wondering if anybody had any thoughts about it.

jlt-

Yes I play with elements from lots of different things, from hair dryers to 120 VAC heaters, All good fun! :)
