Image pma treadmill motor

Today i was looking around one of my costumers yard and saw that he had a newer looking treadmill so i asked him how much he wanted for it and he said just take it. he said that i could have a old john deere riding mower also. So i loaded them both up and went home. Then i took the treadmill apart to find out that it had a Image 2.0hp, 130v, 15a continious duty motor and it works! Well cool so i took it out of the mill and hooked it up to a drill and the voltage read was 34v at full speed. Not sure what speed it is two damn cold outside it is snowing again!!! So anyway i made a blade out of a one by three. It worked allright but i am going to start on some bigger blades tomorrow after work. also i am going to pick up another blocking diode from Able Tronics. A little store by my house well kinda. it is about thirty five miles away. I should be able to hook it up to my battery with a diode in the middle. I think that i am going to go with four foot blades possibly three together looks nicer i think. Just wondering what the cut in speed will be. Guess will have to find out when i get there. Well i would like to hear some successful stories with these motors. searched the board for a couple of hours today. not to much that interested me. Just a lot of going around the topic. well talk to ya all later.

Have you ever tried to put a generator on a treadmill using human or DOG walking power?

Would someone let me know if you of some plans out there in Web World.

I seem to recall some post about the demise of Skippy. Something involving an unsecured cage and a feline of the household variety.


Maybe it was another rat but I don't think so.


I could be thinking of another rodent, too.

Sorry we got off track again.

The story of the rodent was not only very informative about building homemade 'mills but also very funny in the minds eye.


I know what you mean about cold woke up to 3F, if I hadn't been smart enough to plug the enigne warmer up, the 300D would've told me to go away.


One of the things you'll need. Find the speed of what the drill was doing, this will help decide the best route to go. High speed motors may be better off with a steup pulley, or a small faster set of blades to get it up to cutin speed.


I know its COLD!! :-) but this will pass :-)

 What does the plate with hp and amps say the rpm is.The lower the better.Mine is 6700 rpm.Way to high to direct drive.Some are slower you may be lucky.
