Solar panel
« on: February 07, 2008, 02:28:39 PM »
I've bought this on Ebay......

It's going to be put on the same system as my wind turbine, which it outclasses by a mile.  I now have an extra battery which brings me up to 185Ah, and I hope to run a few lights from it, most likely LEDs.

I quite excited, and it's going to look mighty fine on my shed roof.

Nice buy, I bought something similar off ebay but from Germany a few months ago, I payed quite a bit more as well. Seems like a good price for the UK.

Good luck with your project.

Post some pictures when its done :)

It had just arrived when I posted the diary entry.

I got it home last night and had a good look at it and took a couple of photos.

The panel is made by "Rich Solar".  I put my meter on it last night and was getting 10.5v indoors under the normal room lighting.

I must say it doesn't look much for £240, but I suppose it wouldn't.  The back is open which was a bit of a disappointment, perhaps this helps it keep cool?

Both of mine are the same the backs are open, it says somewhere in the paper work for mine to mount them off the surface of the roof for cooling purposes.

What was the guarantee you got with them?
