Because he has a MX60.

My panels are also wired for 48V into a 24V bank.

The beauty of MPPT.

Ah, I see.  I'll get back in my box now. ;-)

It took me a long time to figure this one out, even after the mx-60 was delivered, I still wondered if I were correct in my purchase.

You can still use the arco panels.

Just as a separate bank wired straight to the battery bank.

You can't mix them in the same bank is all.

Thank you for the information, I believe I will have plenty of power once I the the remaining panels are in place. I thought I would hold onto the arco panels for a future project but have decided to sell them instead of storing them any longer.

It looks like a set of blades and a good cleaning,

plus a little oil and grease would fix the top.

Then pull the well and put new seals and leathers,

AHH wind powered water.Should not be hard.

It looks like the furling mechanism failed in a high wind and scattered the blades.[Rope broke ?]

The tower is about 30' as I recall and I am not sure why it came apart. The bolts that hold the blades on did not have any lock washers.  If I had a crane truck I would lift the motor off the tower, I might be better off paying a professional to fix it.

Thank you, the property is in need of much work, I am considering selling off the north 40 and start making some improvements.

I thought the MX60's 60amp limit was an output limit to the batteries, not an input amp limit from the solar array?  If the battery bank is 24v then 60amps x 24v is 1440 watts max?

What is the maximum power that your mx60 says you are putting into your batteries in full sun?  Is it near the 2800 watts your solar panels should be putting out?

I will check it out and get back with you. Most of the winter my batteries stay at float as I am not using much energy, now that it is heating up, I will be using the swamp coolers and will try to get back to you on this.

My upgraded panels were not enough for this summer, I installed another 960 watts or two more arrays, this give me a total of 3840 watts of rated power. I separated the battery banks and I am now running two separate controllers. The main bank has 16 T-125's and is charged with the MX-60 and tied to 2880 watts of panels. The auxiliary bank consists of 8 T-125's and is charged a trace C-35 and is tied to 960 watts of panels.  When I go back in a day of so I will find out how my charging system is working.

My God, man;

Nice, but why upload such a ginormous photo? 3 megs is a blatant violation of both courtesy and board rules.

Hope Kurt doesn't see it, he will chew you out and kill the post.

I have had this rectifier power supply sitting around for years. I finnaly took a look at it and I believe I could charge a battery with it, am I correct in my thinking?

Maybe.  It is a power supply.

The voltmeter is reading about 11.5V.  Not much good to charge a 12V battery, which should be charged up to about ~14.4V.

Does that knob adjust the output voltage?  Probably have to connect a battery and increase the voltage, without getting the ammeter reading too high.

I will give it a try when I get back to the ranch in the morning.  I thought I could try it on some of the tired batteries and see how it reacts.

Bob, this October might be a good time for you to come out and visit. I could use some advice and I imagine you could use an air fix.
