Bushing swapout
« on: March 15, 2008, 11:19:33 AM »
I' ve created some space to rebuild some cores . These end caps are pretty standard in fan motors . I coped out the mount and packing for the bushings and inset some 1 1/4 tubing . With some allen keys is a good fit .

I use pvc for holding bearings also. I found a 1" to one and 1/4" bushing from ACE hardware fits a standard size bearing perfect and tight (no set screws). Check out my page for pictures. In the middle of the first picture there are two bushings in the center, 1 facing up and one facing down. The one on the right shows the indentation where a bearing fits but only on the ones from ACE.

PVC is holding up fine. Being out in the sun I painted it white to block UV.
