I've had a few people inquiering about the Garbogen assembly.

Prior to the fire last Jully I had hoped to try some end cap and magnet secureing upgrades.

Here are a few pictures of some new end caps I'm trying.

A few years ago I built a new deck for my house out of that plastic/wood composition material.

It works very well as a mounting base for the Garbogen.

We use a router circal tool at my store and that worked out very well to make round inserts from the material for the motor cans.

I used the same router tool to make a slightly larger plate out of 1/8" aluminum to use as a stop plate/bearing rertainer. Also made a smaller round bearing retainer for inside the motor can.

This is where the Garbogen starts. This is a very rare 1 HP, 10.2 amp I found dumpster diving.

It's so good to hear that you're back in the "business"!

I really need 2 sets (3 blades each) of those great plastic blades you used to sell. I am hoping those are still available. My best efforts at carving wood and tweaking plastic barrels really suck.

Also would you sell just the head of a garbogen set to charge at 12V?

Could I ship you an ECM for your modifications. I seen to never have the time, and I'm afraid I'll screw it up.

Yes I still have blades ($20 each). I can build a PMA only.

With the new solid steel armature, new 3/4" shaft, new end caps, no rectifiers and 4 wires coming out of the can ($175 each).

At this price you may be inspired to build your own?

I think I should work up a parts price list for all the special parts that make up a Garbogen. Then you could just buy what parts you can't make yourself?

The magnets will be hard to find unless NTL still has some available?

Today after checking clearences I've noticed I'll have to recess 4 of the mounting screws that hold the aluminum stop plate to the comp/wood.

This will make clearance for the end caps to just fit snug. If the screws are not shortend and sunk into the comp/wood they will dig into the coils.

With these new end caps the doides no longer will fit inside the motor can. So a heatsink just outside the can or 4 wire down the tower.

If I sent every one on the board one, DanB could aford to find the old #29 and sell them again LOL.

I'm sure 20 Garbogens might make as much power as DanBs 20 FTr moreLOL?

 Those are what I'd call camper size,,..  LOL!!

Lots of people think I should hook them up with one for their camper, after they find out I build things like that.

 Must remember to not brag about no power bill at shed/shop,,.. LOL

 I scored a 1HP, 3PH, 1250 rpm(6 pole), small one with only a half inch shaft this week, brand new never used, and I thought it was the camper size.

 Quick question, and "my bad" for not googleing the board :-() but did you ever build these with ceramics?

I have ohh ~ 200 of them :-)

1"x2"x 0.5"

Gonna get my feet with doing these yet.

I've not used ceramics. I have used 1"X2"X.5" NEOs. 4 seems to fit OK.

I  did use a slightly smaller ceramic in my first dual rotor.

With that many magnets, you can through one together just for fun.
