message sent around to your contacts ASAP.PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING

AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!You should be alert during the

virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc

your e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is the r eason why

you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts It is better to

is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has bee n classified by

Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was

Just got this Friday, I was churning butter for two days...

"Yea, verily, thou hast opened the horrible and fearsome

AMISH COMPUTER VIRUS

The very souls of the entire creation have been seduced and adulterated by the fulsome twin demons of electricity and computerization !

REPENT ye therefore of this ABOMINATION !

Now, child, since we Amish have no computers of our own, this virus must be applied by the honor system.

Henceforth ye shall DELETE YOUR OWN FILES FORTHWITH! and with great jurisprudence and humility !

MAKE HASTE ! and tarry not, THOU LAGGART !

(I would'st have used TWO exclamation points to expose and display the fierce and righteous indignation that hast taken root in my fecund heart, but contemplation of such fancy prideful waste of punctuation is abhorred by all prudent and sober men)"

Nope... not when the message came from my son.. didn't give it a thought.

I think it should be a mandatory life sentence for writing a virus and sending it out on the web.   Spam should be a 10 year first offense.  Maybe people would think twice about screwing up others personal data and bogging them down with krap.

Here is another one that completely disturbs me...  Would anyone like to purchase internet through an ISP based on the "Top 100" sites and pay extra for the rest of them?  Like we do with Cable or Dish TV?  A couple good channels and the rest of them garbage you never watch....

Here is the link to that one ...  http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/canada_net_censorship.html

Talk about destroying the internet small business overnight....

Yeah I've seen this pop up from time to time over the last few years. It is a hoax. Last time was a few weeks ago where it was called the Olympic torch virus that would burn your C drive.

The only damage is does is bog down the internet with panic emails. Its OK Ed, a lot of people get caught with this one.

Some e-mails that appear to be an important warning, a patriotic banner, or something "inspirational"...

Are actually an "e-mail address sponge" for a spammer.

Thats exactly what it is. I got one in my Hotmail account about 6 months ago.

They were phishing. The server it called home to was in eastern Europe.

I notified Hallmark, since the email used their name and linked to them.

Just look on the snopes page it links to - it specifically mentions that email pretty much verbatim :)

Usually if the emails have lots of CAPS in them....it's a phony.

And one of the ways to gather email addresses is doing some silly email just like this.

And sooner or later it comes back with 5 jillion obliging Windoze users email addys along with it. (when "forward" is mentioned...guess which button 80% + of folks will hit?) Like the "send this to 10 friends and Bill Gates will give you 50 bucks" mass email--which started off as a joke/hoax and was sometimes used to send virus's later.

IF y'all want to stop at least a small teensy bit of the mass emailings...strip off the headers with the former email addresses in them...then just send the text or pic along.(attachments sent sometimes have lots of email addys in them too, that's from some Einstein hitting "send as attachment" and away it goes...with all the previous email addys)

Personally I wish every email client would have NEVER had that silly "forward" button in them.

It's rather easy to strip your families or friends email addresses off of something you want to send to someone else.

Even easier to use Linux and avoid most of the virus's and some Windoze specific email hazards. But the not hitting the "forward" applies to Linux too. :)
