Mark,
I did a search, but it pulled up a BUNCH of your other posts, seems like everything but the 32inch! I was running short on internet time too, but adding the 32in to a google search found it!
Nice! Don't know if you read my diary post, but I have a cabinet maker friend who is helping me on a 20incher. We're making the stator using a banding machine he has, but it could be done manually. Basically, it uses 1 1/2inch wide wood banding, about 1/16" thick. There's an automatic glue applicator on the machine...again, can be done manually. Just keep going round & round until you have a "hoop". Be sure to make it with extra material on the I.D. and O.D.. Once it's made and mounted, we'll spin it & use a lathe tool to make it fit the I.D. and O.D. as needed.
In my case, we're looking for 2inch wide material. But the idea is to have an easily machined form to locate the coils, since fiberglass will be formed around them for the finished product.
