Finally, i'm starting to get my first gen together; though, only in the teststages.

First, i made the blades this summer; measuring 7' in diameter, made of 2"x6" pinewood.

I haven't tested the real tsr of the blades yet, but they seems to reach around 120rpm in 3-4m/s. (yes, metric. Get used to it...
)
As for the generator; it has 8 magnets measuring 50x25x20mm on one disk, and a spinning returndisk with no magnets. The rotor are 25cm in diameter, and 10mm thick. Here, cast with epoxy with waterproof-filling from West-Systems.

(These are the long 10,8cm magnets i've spoken of before; cut in half.)
The 6 coils have 100 turns of 1mm wire. Here, temporarly mounted for testing.

Initial hand-spin tests suggests 13v@240rpm without the returndisk, and 13v@185rpm with the disk.
Now, i have lots of worries here...
First, even with only 8 magnets on one disk and an empty disk as flux-return, i think that the 1mm wire (#18?) are a bit on the thin side...
Second, i blotched the casting of the stator by using butter(?!) in the form; forcing me to break loose the stator. It cracked a couple of places, but i've repaired it by making a groove in the cracks, and pouring in more epoxy. Though i suspect that it's not as strong now as it could be... :-( (next time: wax.
)
And third:
Would the rotor blades i've made match the generator?
