I been busy
« on: December 16, 2008, 05:46:20 AM »
HI everyone! I am updating my windmill info, Its still in the air and on gusty days about 10- 20 mph winds it spins, but not constant, it winds up then slows, stops then next gust comes along and off it goes again. Now its kinda out of balance so it is bouncing it was pretty windy here today I was outside working on a gate for the dogs and figured it I should check to see if its still putting out anything, to my surprise it was still putting out the juice. My highest reading was a little over 16 volts which I was happy with. I havn't worked on it all summer, hopefully I will get back to it, I think little bigger blades and balanced and get it up in the air out of the trees it may work out alright.

Hi, its connected to 3 batteries, to charge them up, thats as far as I got with it, the batteries are very  old and i don't believe they want to be charged any more, dead cell,LOL, One of these days I need to get back to it, rebalance it, make a much higher tower, longer blades to grab a bit more wind so it will spin with less wind speed it takes about a 20 mph + to get it going, and then its still stalling out. We get a few breezy days but for the way it is set up now not near enough constant wind speed to keep it spinning the way it needs to be. It is fun to tinker with though.
