Saving Money on Homebrew Wind Power

I know I'm not the only one here that is retired and trying

to live on a fixed income. Seems like everything is going up,

except my retirement pay.

For those of you that live in the United States, you can save

quite a bit of money if you have a membership to Barnes & Noble.

They sent me a coupon for 15% off. So I was able to order a copy

of the Dan's new book-----Homebrew Wind Power---- for the amazing

price of $22.92!!! That's almost a 43% savings!!!!

Even if you don't have a 15% coupon, they still sell it everyday

for $29.96, which is 25% off the cover price!!!!

No, I don't feel guilty that I didn't order from our hosts. I didn't

bootleg it, or steal it. I ordered from a legitimate source. The Dan's

may not get the full profit, but they still get their royalties.

I would call it a economic redistribution of wealth, mainly your :-)

By going online, you keep 1 more IT person employed, which means they too are able to buy 1 more item or pay 1 more bill. The Dan's get the royalty which means income, little, but steady.

You save a little money which means savings to keep and grow or 1 more item to purchase and keep yet 1 more person (hopefully) employed.

SEE by doing this, instead of helping just 1 set you've helped 3!! probably more if you count the people who get to keep paying/buying while you were on your way to saving yourself too. Plus less polution in the air by driving, more fuel left for one more trip, the list can be endless

Thanks for the tip. I'm ordering it that way as well. I'm also retired and every penny counts at my place too.

PS Gas up fella's the evil Saudi government is cutting oil production again and that'll drive up the price soon.  I think they're trying to destroy the west though my wallet. )

Just keep in mind -- Barnes and Noble does not actually have the book in stock yet.

And, we have no idea when they will have it in stock -- they have not even placed an order with us yet for it, and it will be at least a few weeks before the book is 'in the pipeline' to the distributors that supply the major bookstores like B&N.

So "available January 1" is dreaming on their part...

If you want the book NOW, get it from Forcefield!

If you must order from the big box stores to save some money, that's certainly understood.  Just a couple things to keep in mind...

There are basically two entities involved. There is Buckville Publications. They publish, and have the book printed. Then there is Forcefield (parent company to otherpower), which distributes the book for both retail (if purchased directly) and wholesale orders.

Forcefield pays the royalties to Buckville Pub.

Forcefield also pays all costs associated with the free information available at Otherpower.com, as well as the free information here on the discussion board. (Yes.. of course those costs are offset by the advertising)

In buying the book directly from Forcefield, you are definitely doing your part to help keep these websites available for all to learn from. You'll also get your book sooner as ADMIN mentioned.

Forcefield is also (albeit indirectly) responsible for supplying kibble to myself, my annoying sister Koko, Flash, Morwen, Kody... even some cats (yikes).

And... if you make the request, I will personally stare at the Dans until they autograph your copy (might be cause for delay).
