nice little sparks

i don't go for this myth at otherpower, were there is no wind for three days when you put up a new mill.

it was way, way, windy here on georgian bay yesterday so i put up a little drag vertical(sweeping4 sq.ft.)

10" dual rotor . (2 old saw blades)

ceramic mags on one and hd mags on the other.

 16 poles and 16 coils

it's single phase of course, but it ended up i'm runing two sets of 8 coils in parallel to get about 14 volts @60 rpm.

lets not talk about amps!

well, anyway, within minutes of launch time, the grid went down.

so many trees were blown over yesterday,

i was without power for  13.5 hrs.

i am starting a new myth. the perfect time to launch a new windmill generator is during a power outage

Hi

Isn't that the ultimate dream, you put up the new turbine or solar panel, or buy a new generator. Then the power goes out so your the only one actually ready to produce your own power..........  you would have to look smug and gloat to she who would like to be obayed trying not to say see, now you know why I do it......

So there you are....the grid is off and you plug

in a couple of CFL's to THE INVERTER the little

fan softly whooshing ....your pride and joy...

and she says.....'Boy....that's noisy'

(mostly because the TV isn't on and blaring away

at half-volume).....just cannot win !

Meanwhile the Grandson isn't paying any

attention at all...He has his earphones on as he

watches a DVD on his battery powered compact DVD

player  ( a comic rerun that he's seen dozens of

times.....)
