Bike and Pedgen combined
« on: June 05, 2009, 04:29:13 AM »
Temporary hookup to see how well it works, way

too much tension on the wheel...

I plan on fixing it so I can raise the pulley on

hills.....

Put 8 miles on it so far about 20 watt/hrs.

Be careful pedaling that to the court house, police station, post office, etc.

It looks like about 6 or 7 pounds of dynamite on the bike and that bigger pack on the bench seat looks like it could blow up three quarters of Conneaut!!!

Almost 2 amps if you pedal real fast....there's a

hill down to the creek I can probably get going

35 mph maybe 4 amps???? ....but it's a long tough

walk up the other hill !!

Yes you do....its the motor I had on the first pedgen.

Now that you mention it...it does ? Paint the

sticks red.....and ......the yellow muti-meter

could be mistaken for the detonating device

careful ! ....be sure and cut the right wire !

I'm goiing to make a cover for them and permanent

terminals.

Got less tension on the pulley...big difference

especially pedaling a couple of miles or slight

uphill feels less like Pike's Peak !

Interesting setup.. why did you choose to power the front wheel instead of the rear?

So does this setup give you enough extra power to the road to be useful?

Well first off it came to be set up just like it

was on the exercise bike also the bolt that

originally held the front brake just happened to

fit the middle hole of the hinge....just drilled

it bigger and used a larger bolt.

I also like to see what's going on had a bicycle

alternator once on the backwheel of my motorbike

once reached back to flip it on one rainy night

and touched the terminals....Ouch!

No this setup is just for charging batteries

the motor isn't powerful enough at 12 volts,

but it is dandy for charging my cordless drill batteries,

just for fun! One less wall wart....

killing a few birds with one stone.....saving

a few cents getting the exercise I need, losing

weight etc. I've lost 32 lbs. over the last

couple of years just by exercising and eating

less.
