Early CFLs had color rendition problems too.  They changed phosphors and got much better.


Some of the LED arrays I've seen currently are just fine for color - even with multiple copies of only one type of diode.  (Also:  The individual diodes are directional so mixing diodes of different color outputs would make a more patchy illumination.)

I think that if you switch from red meat to more granola type stuff, the quantity of your solid effluent will actually increase.  :-)
