6 volt inverter scematic

(1/1)

HydroCamper:
I am really trying to get from 2-5 volts to 12 volt DC. I found lots of inverter scematics out there. Almost all are based on 12VDC to 120VAC. Can I substitue a different transformer to acheive a 4 volt to 12 volt change without changing the capacitor and resister values?

Hydrocamper:
Why don't you say what you need and what for, so this way One can tell you what you need, including the sizes of the parts to supply the watts needed.
I used to do converters for a living
Unless you know what to do, what you suggest may be not possible.

he actually did sort of say, in another thread.
hydrocamper. dont post a second thread that asks the same basic question as one you already started, cause you will miss out on a good part of the discussion, and people who only look at the second thread will lose half the info.

HydroCamper:
Here are some more of the details. My previous posting describing the portable power hydro system I built seems to have been taken off or lost. But anyway, I built a portable power system out of an trolling motor to take camping. It works great, but the only problem is it normally produces 5 VDC power at most, and I need 12DC for the inverter. In some cases it produces power as low as 2 or 3 volts. So to sum it up:
INPUT VOLATE: 2-5 VOLTS DC

OUTPUT VOLTAGE: 10 - 14 VOLTS DC (12 NOMINAL)

WATTS USED: 350 SURGE, 30-50 NORMALLY.
WATTS GENERATED: This is hard to say since they rate trolling motors in lbs of thrust. The one I used is 30lbs of thrust. I could not measure the amps because my multimeter is not good enough. At 3 volts I would estimate at least 100 watts, a 4 or 5 volts its really cooking and has lot of power. Easly 100s of watts could even be over 1000.

HydroCamper:
I tried to do that, but for some reason which I don't understand the website will not show me that thread when I click in the hydro section.
